Things to do in Oneonta:

Oneonta (Oh-Knee-On-Tah) is nestled between the Catskill and Adirondack mountains, in the Susquehanna River Valley. Oneonta offers a wonderful mix of cultural, sports, and recreational activities for families and couples. For sports fans, Oneonta and area is a haven. The National Soccer Hall of Fame is right here in town, and the National Baseball Hall of Fame is just 30 minutes of country driving away in Cooperstown. Both Oneonta and Cooperstown feature many fine museums, and Oneonta is home to two colleges: Hartwick College and the State University of New York at Oneonta. Culturally, the area supports many performing arts groups such as symphonies, choral societies, community theaters, and the famous Glimmerglass Opera. Summer features many baseball camps where youth teams come to be trained by national experts. The area has several enjoyable eateries as well. Major event weekends include the Baseball Hall of Fame induction (usually in July), the General Clinton Canoe Regatta (Memorial Day Weekend), July 4 in the park and First Night (December 31). We have several skiing, boating, and other recreational activities within an hour's drive.
